Truly one-of-a-kind piece. I am not sure I can recreate the effects on the surface. The kiln definitely blessed this pot with so many colors and flows.

This teaboat is the end result of taking inspiration from an image taken on a stormy day at the lake and going through a creative process exercise of starting with a goal to precisely transfer the image to pottery, then continuing with each step to free the mind, let the surfaces of the pots become more abstract until this final piece was created and instead of an evergreen hillside up from a lake, we have a Feral Forest.

Why the Sky Sandwich?
Sometimes when strong storm clouds float in over the lake, they reflect perfectly in the lake and a sliver of blue sky gets nestled between the clouds and their lake reflection to create a Sky Sandwich. The original image was of a Sky Sandwich.

Those are the times I love to sit on the deck and stare straight out focusing on how the clouds are moving and how their reflection on the lake shifts with them. Quiet moments watching nature's strength flow effortlessly.

Hand-thrown, Hand-glazed, and hand-signed using a sturdy, functional, super white and highly transparent porcelain clay made in Canada.

I create in small batches. Each piece is thrown and hand-crafted in the likeness of the next. I hope you’ll agree variations in color, small marks from the minerals and stone in the clay, or slight sways in design resulting from working with natural materials create the charm expected and treasured in handmade pottery.
